Tanzanian Children Sing about HIV/AIDS

This footage is from a small village school in Arusha, Tanzania. The clip illustrates how local people are raising awareness and addressing the crisis themselves. In the video, 9-year-ancient orphan Glory Abraham leads her class in a song about the AIDS crisis in her people. To gather more about Glory, you can try out out my blog at epicchange.org To me, this small video speaks volumes about AIDS awareness and activism among Tanzanian children and their hopes regarding the prospect of their people. The school that these children attend was founded by a local Tanzanian woman in 2003 and is currently caught up in a project with Epic Change, an establishment I founded last year after the theater volunteer work in their people. You can get caught up at www.epicchange.org.

Info on HIV/ AIDS? (correct on tv?)?

First off- I DO NOT HAVE HIV/AIDS!
I don’t know anyone that does either.
I am not worried that I may have it.
I don’t.

I was just thinking last night about an episode of CSI I saw (I know, tv!) and this guy got sprayed by HIV infected blood in his eyes. He finished up getting caught by the CSI people because he started showing symptoms in what seemed like 2 weeks most.

I’m wondering, do persons symptoms show up that quickly? Or are the general public vastly mislead from this on tv? Any info would be splendid. My curiosity is getting the best of me :)
